ABOUT FUTURE WHITETAIL DEVELOPMENT

Built by Landowners. For Landowners.

Future Whitetail Development was built around a simple idea: the best habitat plan is one that fits the property and the person hunting it.

We approach each property as a complete system. Food, bedding, security cover, terrain, deer movement, neighboring pressure, wind, stand placement and hunter access all influence one another. By looking at the entire property instead of isolated projects, we help landowners prioritize improvements that make sense for their land, budget and long-term goals.

We work directly with landowners across Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota to design properties that hold more deer, improve wildlife health, and increase long-term land value.

We don’t believe in cookie-cutter habitat plans.

Every property is different.
Every landowner’s goals are different.
Your plan should reflect that.

When we walk your land, we walk it together — discussing wind, pressure, bedding, access, food sources, and long-term vision. You’re part of the design process from start to finish.

Because when you understand the “why,” you can confidently implement the “how.”

The Founder

Meet Scott Christison

Scott Christison has spent more than 20 years pursuing whitetails and learning how deer respond to habitat, hunting pressure and changing conditions. His outdoor experience also includes waterfowl hunting, pheasant hunting and fishing, giving him a broad appreciation for wildlife, habitat and the landscapes of the Upper Midwest.

Scott’s whitetail experience began on public land, where more than a decade of hunting and learning through trial and error helped shape the way he looks at properties today. That experience progressed from public land to leased properties and eventually to owning and actively managing hunting ground in central Minnesota.

Today, Scott focuses on helping landowners understand how the individual pieces of their property work together. Bedding, food, security cover, travel corridors, terrain, screening, prevailing winds, stand placement and hunter access are considered as parts of one complete system—not separate projects.

Scott is also a member of the Whitetail Partners network and serves clients throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.

No cookie-cutter plans. Just practical habitat that works.

An avid bow hunter for most of his life, Scott works to get the most out of his property with each hunt.

Building a Real-World Solution

A Habitat Plan Has to Be Huntable

Great habitat is only part of the equation. A property also has to be huntable.

Creating quality food, bedding and security cover can make a property more attractive to whitetails, but access, hunting pressure, wind and stand placement can ultimately determine whether deer—especially mature bucks—feel secure using that habitat during daylight hours.

That is why Future Whitetail Development looks beyond individual habitat improvements. Every property is evaluated as a complete system, including bedding, food, security cover, terrain, travel corridors, prevailing winds, neighboring properties, stand locations and hunter entry and exit routes.

The goal is to develop habitat that works for the deer and a hunting strategy that allows the landowner to take advantage of it without unnecessarily disrupting the property.

Our Approach

Built Around Your Goals

Some landowners want more daylight deer.
Some want better pheasant cover.
Some want habitat that fits farming or family use.

We help you design a property that balances:

Our Proving Ground

The Red Arrow Ranch

We believe habitat recommendations should be based on more than theory.

Red Arrow Ranch serves as the proving grounds for Future Whitetail Development, where we put habitat strategies, products, techniques and some of the latest trends in whitetail management to the test under real-world conditions.

There is no shortage of new ideas, products and so-called “game changers” in the hunting and habitat industry. Some work. Some work only under the right circumstances. And some simply don’t live up to the hype.

At Red Arrow Ranch, we’re willing to find out.

From food plot varieties and planting techniques to screening, bedding improvements, travel corridors, habitat products, access strategies and emerging ideas, we test and evaluate what actually makes sense in the field. When something works, we learn where and how it may be useful. When it doesn’t, that’s valuable information too.

Our goal is simple: test the trends and weed out the gimmicks before recommending them on a client’s property.

Red Arrow Ranch isn’t a showroom. It’s a working hunting property where we’re continually learning, testing, adjusting and looking for better ways to improve whitetail habitat and hunting opportunities.

Test the trends. Weed out the gimmicks.
